! Beware the Defaults
Live Working Session

THE BUILDLAB

Four practitioners show up every Friday and work on real problems in real time. No slides. No curriculum. No script. Just the actual conversation that moves the work forward.

WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENS

Someone shows up with something they built that morning. Someone else tested a new model nobody's heard of. A conversation starts. It goes somewhere none of us expected.

The output is different every week because the input is different every week. That's the point. This isn't content consumption. It's collaborative thinking in motion.

FROM A RECENT SESSION

FEB 13, 2025
Tam built a full CRM inside Notion that morning using their new agent connectors — live email labeling, auto-escalation to Slack, client interaction tracking. Showed the whole thing working in real time.
Zain researched a new Mistral transcription model that outperforms OpenAI's Whisper — found the open source version on Hugging Face, shared prompting best practices for image models nobody had tested yet.
Max walked through his image generation process live — the zoom-out-then-zoom-in method, starting with emotion before ever touching a prompt. Tam captured it as a reusable process doc in real time during the call.
The conversation drifted into "taste" — what it actually means, why it's pattern recognition built from years of expertise, and how that connects to extracting someone's invisible decision-making. Nobody planned that. It just emerged.

WHAT YOU WON'T FIND ON YOUTUBE

There are thousands of hours of AI tutorials online. This isn't one of them. The value here is in the thinking between the tools — the part that can't be recorded as a how-to.

NOT THIS
Pre-recorded walkthroughs of features you could read about in the docs
THIS
Watching someone build something from scratch and narrate every decision they make along the way
NOT THIS
Generic prompt templates that work for everyone and no one
THIS
Your actual problem, worked on live, with people who think differently about the solution
NOT THIS
A lecture where one person talks and everyone else watches
THIS
A room where four people riff until something emerges that none of them could have built alone
"90% of the stuff we do in the background never sees the light of day. That's part of putting in the creative reps. That's the piece nobody teaches."

WHY THIS FORMAT WORKS

When you work alongside people who are building different things with different tools, you absorb patterns you'd never find on your own. Keith learns from Tam's systematization. Zain pressure-tests Max's strategy. Tam captures everything and turns it into something reusable before the call ends.

The output is an emergent property of everyone in the room. Different inputs. Different expertise. Same hour. Whatever comes out of it couldn't have been designed in advance. And that's the thing that makes people come back.

THINGS THAT HAPPENED BECAUSE SOMEONE SHOWED UP

In-Session Discovery
Zain discovered Anything LLM while researching Mistral — then shared it with Max that night for a privacy-focused meeting notes solution. None of that was planned.
Live Process Capture
Max explained his image generation process out loud. Before the call ended, Tam had turned it into a documented workflow and published it to the team's shared workspace.
Real-Time Model Testing
The group tested Quinn 2.0 and Seed Dance prompting guides live — comparing outputs, discovering prompt formatting nuances across different image models in real time.
Emergent Framework
A casual conversation about "what is taste?" turned into a framework connecting pattern recognition, expertise extraction, and cognitive fingerprints. Nobody planned to talk about it.

FRIDAY.
1 PM EST.
SHOW UP.

The conversation is different every week. The only thing you'll regret is what you missed.
